As the holiday season approaches, it’s time to dive into the latest happenings on the Nintendo Switch eShop. This week, it’s all about embracing events and challenges, with games like Fortnite and Disney: Dreamlight Valley capturing the festive, winter wonderland vibe.

Let’s talk Pokémon for a moment. Remember Violet and Scarlet? With so many releases flooding in, it’s easy for this open-world adventure to slip to the back of your mind. However, there’s still plenty of excitement left, especially with the current Tera Raid Battle Event. This event is running until January 5, giving players the unique opportunity to catch a Shiny Rayquaza.

Meanwhile, Fortnite’s renowned for its themed adventures, and this week is no different. The Winterfest Cabin is back, welcoming players until January 7. • Disney Dreamlight Valley

• Overwatch 2

  • Festive fun abounds as Winter Wonderland returns. Challenge yourself to earn frosty rewards, including the Winter Chic Widowmaker skin. Events are live until January 6.

• Rocket League

  • Feel a chill in the air? Frosty Fest 2024 is here, loaded with challenges, rewards, and more, from December 10 to 31.
• Apex Legends
  • The Winter’s Haunt Event is underway, introducing the Winter Express limited-time mode. Earn Ice Gems and unlock legendary cosmetics, including 150 Heirloom Shards. Happening now through January 6.
