Oh man, where do I even start with this? Okay, so apparently Microsoft Flight Simulator is getting a… wait for it… Jurassic World add-on. Yeah, I was just as surprised. I mean, imagine flying over cool stuff like prehistoric dino lands instead of, I dunno, skyscrapers or whatever. Orbx Studios is cooking up something wild. They teamed up with Universal (yes, that Universal) to make this happen. Why? No clue. But it’s a thing.
They want us to “step into” Jurassic World. Though, really, it’s more like you’ll be flying over it, unless you’re land-bound by mechanical failure or indecision. But hey, there’s an airport and ferry port that’s all jazzed up like something out of a sci-fi movie. Orbx says this madness drops between August and September on PC, and a bit later on Xbox. Typical.
For all you geeks sticking with the 2020 version of Flight Sim instead of dealing with the mess – or should I say “post-launch chaos” – of the 2024 version… good news! Orbx is working on making this dino land thing compatible. Yep, X-Plane 12 fans, you’re included too. But, hold your horses, they haven’t spilled the beans on price yet. No idea if it’s gonna cost a fortune or if you can snag it without selling a kidney.
You’ll need the 2024 version of the simulator though. It’s like owning a car before buying accessories. If you’re thinking of Xbox, brace yourself for marketplace exclusives and a reduced number of buying choices. Convoluted, right?
Orbx encourages social engagement, cause that’s the trend. Join their Discord if you’re curious about any updates, especially on the cost – ‘cause money talks. And maybe check in around August or September for the juicy details.
There’s a pic in the article of the Halo Pelican that landed in a previous edition. Because why not throw in some spaceships with your realistic simulation? Personally, could care less about getting nose-to-nose with a T-Rex. I mean, I might give it a whirl if it’s cheap. Otherwise, I’ll just stick to routine flyovers of my neighborhood. “Life finds a way” or whatever — as long as it doesn’t go broke trying.
That’s my chaotic brain dump on the matter. Hope you enjoyed this fractured journey through the upcoming dino-flight madness.
