After a brief delay, “Secrets of the Spires” is finally here, marking the second narrative expansion for Season Pass holders. This DLC adds five Xbox achievements and weighs in at around 17.5GB for Xbox Series X|S. The standout features include the new map area, Spires of the Clouded Forest, new skills, gear, and an engaging story campaign. While it continues the main game’s narrative, players have the choice to dive straight into this new content, skipping the primary storyline if they wish.

Ubisoft describes the DLC as offering “epic aerial battles” set against the backdrop of the Spires of the Clouded Forest, a breathtaking new area in Pandora’s Western Frontier. This vast open world is crafted to enhance the flying experience on your ikran. Players can engage in the sabotage of RDA aerial convoys using newly introduced ikran skills and a unique mounted weapon. As you explore, you’ll encounter a reclusive Na’vi clan and join their struggle against an RDA threat in the region. This new environment’s vertical landscape, riddled with canyons and caves, promises unexpected challenges around every corner.

“Secrets of the Spires” introduces Spires of the Clouded Forest, a fresh map area that invites you to explore a new story campaign, side quests, and activities. Discover new biomes like the Tangled Peaks and Splintered Arches, deepen your bond with your ikran, and uncover new skills and gear along the way. This update enhances progression across all platforms, allowing players to utilize skill points to unlock and upgrade multiple new ikran abilities, such as Ikran Smash, Launch, and Flares.

For PlayStation 5 Pro users, the game now supports 60 FPS Quality Mode, thanks to the console’s enhanced hardware capabilities, which allow higher FPS and rendering resolutions. The update also introduces PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), a machine learning-based temporal upscaler that promises improved quality and performance.
