Nintendo’s big boss, Shuntaro Furukawa, kinda hinted that the Switch 2’s cost might jump if “tariffs go bonkers.” Yeah, weird thing to think about, right?
So, Furukawa was chatting with Yahoo! Japan (big thanks to Genki_JPN for cracking the code), saying they’re all about getting the Switch 2 out there fast. But hey, if tariffs pull a fast one, they’ll scratch their heads, maybe fiddle with prices, and see where that lands them. Typical corporate stuff.
They’re banking on selling a whopping 15 million of these gizmos by March 2026. Wild, huh? To make this work, they’re seriously cranking up production. But heads up: they said the profit margins aren’t as fat as the OG Switch. Bummer, right?
Mark your calendars, folks—Switch 2’s hitting store shelves globally on June 5, 2025. Just make sure your piggy bank is ready: it’s gonna be £395.99 in the UK, €469.99 in Europe, and $449.99 in the US.
