Alright, so there’s this VR shindig happening next month. You know, the kinda thing where they show off all the cool new XR games they’ve been cooking up. Anyway, it kicks off on August 12th, some unholy hour in the morning if you ask me—8:40 AM PT. But wait, there’s more—or less? Not sure. They’ve got this ‘XR Indies & Friends’ pre-show lined up before the main shebang at 9:00 AM PT. Why so early? Beats me.
The folks behind this whole deal are hyping it up with promises of “big reveals and updates” for Quest, PSVR 2, and PC VR headsets. Not gonna lie, that sounds pretty epic in a geeky way. They’re talking stuff from Triangle Factory, nDreams Elevation, and Flat2VR Studios. Ever heard of them? Maybe, maybe not. But I’m weirdly curious.
Polyarc’s getting in on the action too, with something called Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss. Apparently, they’re showing it off in Seattle. I used to think Seattle was all rain and coffee, but hey, guess VR stuff happens there too.
That pre-show thing—they’re saying it’s a 20-minute gig with indie projects. Could be hidden gems or just… well, filler. Hard to tell sometimes. But here’s the lineup they’ve teased:
– Glassbreakers from Polyarc. It’s a spin-off of Moss. Think multiplayer strategy, real-time action, yadda yadda.
– Forefront by Triangle Factory. They’re calling it a “highly anticipated multiplayer shooter.” That’s fancy talk for “pew pew, VR style.”
– Reach from nDreams Elevation. Big game of the year contender, apparently, and they’re dropping a fresh trailer. Love me a good trailer.
– Flat2VR Studios is back too with what they call exciting reveals. I guess we’ll see.
So yeah, if you’re into staring at a screen while people talk excitement at you, there’s a livestream on August 12th at 8:40 AM PT / 11:40 AM ET. YouTube and TikTok Live. I might tune in—might not. I tend to oversleep events like these. But you do you.
