Intel XeSS Now Supported in 150+ Games, with More on the Horizon

Intel has made impressive strides with its XeSS technology, announcing that it’s now featured in over 150 games, and the number is still growing. While XeSS 1 has been quite successful, the latest iteration, XeSS 2, is just beginning to see adoption.

Intel was a pioneer in the discrete GPU industry to launch a super-sampling method, which it introduced with its initial Intel Arc Alchemist series. Fast forward two years since the debut of XeSS, the technology has evolved significantly, leading to the current XeSS 2 version.

Although XeSS 2 hasn’t become mainstream yet, the original XeSS 1.0 and its subsequent updates have found their way into numerous games. Intel has proudly shared that the technology now enhances the visuals of over 150 gaming titles, with many more expected to incorporate it soon.

If you’re curious about which games feature XeSS, you’ll find an array of modern triple-A titles on the list. However, XeSS is yet to mount a serious challenge to AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS.

Intel’s journey to compete head-to-head with its GPU rivals is ongoing, but the company stands in a better position than before. Currently, the majority of games supporting this technology are still on XeSS 1, with only a couple of games, such as F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals, embracing XeSS 2 at this stage. That said, highly anticipated games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3, along with several other titles, are set to adopt the innovative XeSS 2 technology soon.

Additionally, a select few games are utilizing Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, but it hasn’t achieved the same level of availability as FSR and DLSS Frame Gen. It’s important to note that XeSS 2 and Frame Generation require Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs to function. As of now, only two GPUs from this lineup, the Arc B580 and Arc B570, have been released, though their availability remains limited.
