CHARTS: Stalker 2 Climbs to No.1 on Steam

The freshest entry in the gaming world, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has taken the top spot as last week’s highest-grossing game on Steam.

Released on November 20th, this title has already sold over a million copies. This impressive sales figure doesn’t even include those playing the survival shooter through Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. It’s undoubtedly a proud moment for the team at GSC Game World, who completed the development of Stalker 2 under some incredibly challenging circumstances—quite literally, a war zone.

Managing to surpass even Counter-Strike 2, Stalker 2 claimed the top spot, pushing the perennial favorite down to second place. Meanwhile, Valve’s Steam Deck hardware saw a boost to third place, largely because of a limited edition white version of the console that hit shelves on November 18th and quickly sold out.

Both PUBG: Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 slid down one position, now sitting in fourth and fifth place respectively. Despite facing quite a few technical hurdles, the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 managed to debut in sixth place.

Generating buzz before its official launch in December, the RPG Path of Exile has secured the seventh spot on the Steam Top Ten, aided by Supporter Packs that offer early access. Climbing up two places, Throne and Liberty by Amazon and NCSoft landed in eighth, overtaking EA Sports FC 25, which now holds ninth place. Wrapping up the chart is Dota 2, nestled comfortably in the tenth spot.
