You ever get that feeling when you’re just trying to keep track of the madness that is your game library, and suddenly — boom — someone decides to throw a solution your way? Yeah, Microsoft is doing this thing now where they’re bundling up your games from all the different places on your PC. Okay, not all the places, but, like a few of them. An Xbox blog said something about rolling it out for Xbox Insiders and later for these ROG handheld thingamajigs. I swear, tech names get weirder every year…
So, this library thing makes it easier to see all your games in one spot (if they come from places Microsoft likes). Right now, we’re talking Battle.net, EA, and Riot Games. EA and Riot are already in there because, you know, Game Pass magic. But they said they’ll add more eventually. Steam, Epic Games, GoG? Maybe.
If they pull it off, it’s like console vibes on a PC, where your games chill out in one place. Okay, GoG Galaxy kinda does that, but this might be cooler ’cause it’s directly hooked into Windows 11. Like, imagine not losing a game to the black hole of your hard drive!
And Xbox — Well, Microsoft’s throwing serious hints out there that they’re going for services rather than making more consoles. Game Pass was their first step in showing they care about both Xbox and PC folks. Now, you’ve got these Xbox-branded PC handhelds popping up. Oh, and remember when they stopped making their own handhelds? They’re about optimizing for others’ devices now – which is kinda wild. Windows 11 is getting these Xbox features now too. Sneaky, right?
No mainstream release date yet for this game library miracle. But with support for ROG Ally handhelds planned around the holidays, mainstream support might drop late this year or even 2026. Yeah, patience is a virtue or whatever.
Anyway, keep an eye on Tom’s Hardware if you want the freshest updates, reviews, all that jazz. Hit follow, or don’t, your call.
