HTC rolled out this thing called the Vive Pro 2 back in 2021, right? And it’s been rocking the flagship status for PC VR gear since then. But guess what? It’s going cheaper now for a bit, and it’s kinda nuts.
So, HTC kicked off this Summer of Gaming Sale, and if you’re itching for a solid VR experience without breaking the bank (more than usual), they’ve got a couple of golden deals on the Vive Pro 2. Seriously, mark your calendars because this sale is running until June 30th.
Here’s the scoop:
- Vive Pro 2 Full Kit for about $799.99 (was $1,199). It comes with the headset, SteamVR 2.0 Base Station, and some wand-style controllers.
- Vive Pro 2 Headset alone is dropping to $499.99 (from $699). That’s just the headset — no base stations, no controllers.
And, bonus treats: both deals hook you up with two months of Viveport Infinity. It’s like a Netflix for VR games. Trust me, it’s a pretty sweet deal if you want to dive into a never-ending list of VR titles.
A quick geek-out session on specs ’cause why not? The headset boasts a 2,448 × 2,448 resolution per-eye (tech-talk for sharp visuals), options for 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rates, and comes with dual-element Fresnel lenses. Oh, and don’t forget a 120° field-of-view. You can tweak IPD and eye-relief too, which is super nerdy but kinda essential for comfort.
Plus, it’s gotta be said, yeah, it’s not the sleekest contraption out there. Looks a bit chunky with all those tech innards and such. Like, okay, it’s no featherweight compared to newer gizmos like Bigscreen Beyond 2. But hey, it’s $200 less expensive, and you get a whole load of stuff in the box. You do need a beastly PC to run it, so… there’s always that.
Anyway, HTC is doing this other thing with their newer Vive Focus Vision, which came out late 2024. This thing is all about that standalone VR life but can double up for PC VR. You can nab:
- Vive Focus Vision – PC VR Kit for $1,149, with headset, controllers, and Wired Streaming Kit. Plus a couple of games like Metro Awakening and Arizona Sunshine 2.
- Or snag the plain Vive Focus Vision for $1,049, still with the same games minus the bells and whistles.
Okay, here’s a weird bit. The Vive Focus Vision, it’s actually priced a smidge higher than when it first came out at $1,000. Blame it on tariffs or something. They did keep it at the original pricing till May 31st, but now it’s $49 more. Thanks, tariffs.
Oh, but wait! Over in Europe and the UK, there’s a smorgasbord of setups up for grabs until June 30th:
- Vive Pro 2 Full Kit is going for about €839/£699.
- Just want the Vive Pro 2 Headset? It’s €469/£449.
- Vive XR Elite package, including some games, slides in at €829/£699.
- Toss in some trackers with the Vive XR Elite + Vive Ultimate Tracker 3+1 Kit for €1,418/£1,198.
- Grab just trackers and the dongle for €589/£499.
I mean, seriously, there’s more. Individual trackers, base stations, controllers. It’s like bargaining at a flea market but, you know, digitally.
Hopefully, this decoder ring of mine helps. Now let’s see if snagging this deal gets you the VR escape you’re looking for!
