Wow, so here we are, talking about The Witcher 3—already ten years old! Can you believe it? It’s like one minute you’re swinging swords, slaying monsters, and the next, a whole decade has whizzed past. And yeah, speaking of old games, many folks are diving into nostalgia, maybe even dusting off TW3 for another adventure. And now there’s this mod for the game that’s stirring things up. Not sure why, but it got my attention.
Right… so imagine switching out the Witcher skill system you’re so used to with an entirely different one. Sounds like a fun experiment, right? Well, someone out there thought, “Hey, remember The Witcher 1’s skill system? Let’s drop that into The Witcher 3!” And voila, that’s what this new mod does. No clue if it’s brilliant or bonkers, but it’s intriguing, for sure.
Anyway, this mod, brought to life by a wildly creative soul named Gerwant30, has taken the old-school talent trees and breathed new life into them for TW3. This person’s not new to the game either—actually snagged a second place in a CD Projekt contest before. So, it seems like they know what they’re doing. Kinda.
So, what’s the deal with these talent trees? Well, apparently, they add thirteen new trees and over 200 fresh skills. Seriously, 200 skills! If you’re someone who loves tinkering, this might be your calling. It’s all about diving deep into Geralt’s development—turning those brain cells toward getting bronze, silver, and gold talents. Kinda feels like leveling up in life, doesn’t it?
Oh, and get this, Gerwant30 also says your real power comes from how you build your character. It’s not just about which sword you flaunt. Makes you think about life, huh? We’re all constantly tweaking ourselves, one skill at a time… or maybe that’s just me getting philosophical.
There’s a catch, though. You can’t just slap this mod onto any old save file. Nope. Fresh game only, folks. And don’t even think about flipping it on for the Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine DLC—it just won’t jive. Now, if you’re going down this rabbit hole, you also need the SkylineR390’s ‘Alchemy’ mod. I mean, nothing says adventure like installing multiple mods and hoping everything clicks.
Oh, and while you’re at it, why not throw in PsychoCaki’s ‘SCAAR’ or a fancy camera mod? They’re all on the recommended list. Gerwant30 might have a few reasons for those suggestions, but who knows?
So, what’s your take? Prefer the OG Witcher vibe or are you all about the new-school flair? Drop us a line. Or don’t. We’re just here for the ride.
