Oh wow, so Hades 2, right? It’s been doing the early access dance for like a year now. Ever had one of those moments where a game feels mostly complete but has those janky placeholders? That was this. Turns out, for a while, Narcissus was kinda a mystery dude in the game, just another green-hooded stand-in. Why they chose green, who knows? Maybe because it’s the color of jealousy, fitting in a twisted way?
Anyway, Tuesday rolls around with the new update—Unseen or something—and boom! Narcissus finally gets a face. Gotta say, Supergiant Games, wow, they’re really pushing boundaries here. Their style, uh… let’s just say it’s “distinctively bold.” Definitely a nod to all those steamy, chaotic Greek myths. I mean, Greeks sure loved their drama, right? Zeus? Pfft, don’t even get me started on his exploits.
Jumping back to the first game, remember those sultry voices? The characters sounded so… mischievous. Honestly, sometimes I’d forget I wasn’t playing some wild romance sim. The voice acting was like tracing silk with your ears. And the music! It was like being wrapped in a magic carpet of Turkish lute melodies. Everyone had this intense backstory vibe—pretty sure not all of it was just friendly banter.
Fast forward to Hades 2, and oh boy, they’re cranking up the heat. They’ve got characters going on literal dates! Bathhouse scene, Dionysus rocking a thong—it’s wild. So yeah, Narcissus now being this… twink? Yeah, it leaves an impression, to say the least.
Someone on X, I couldn’t stop chuckling—“I’d be obsessed with myself too if I looked like that.” Honestly, can’t argue there.
And they’ve tweaked a few other characters too. Like, Prometheus? Less neat now, dripping with blood and whatnot. Fan artists must be having a field day with this material. Insane inspiration just waiting to burst.
Part of me kinda misses the placeholder art though. It had this mysterious allure—like, are we mortals even worthy to gaze upon Narcissus? Imagining him was half the fun. Then again, seeing him now (without dying, thankfully) is quite something.
This game’s journey is just… it’s chaotic but totally in an amazing way.
