Alright, so here we go. I mean, it’s been barely a week since Meta popped out the Quest 3S Xbox Edition headset. And, bam, it’s already outta stock if you try getting it straight from Meta. But hey, don’t sweat it—it’s still kicking around at some third-party places.
So, Meta kinda dropped this earlier, saying the Quest 3S Xbox Edition was gonna be “extremely limited.” Poof, once it’s gone, it’s gone. Wild, right? Folks trying to snag one directly from Meta get hit with an ‘Out of Stock’ sign—both in the US and UK. It’s anyone’s guess if it’s super popular or if Meta just hardly had any to begin with. Small stash maybe? Who can say?
But get this: you can still catch it at Best Buy in the US or check out Argos and EE in the UK. Even the Xbox site is shooing people over to Meta’s out-of-stock page. Makes you wonder if anyone thought this would disappear so quick.
Oh, and here’s a thing I noticed (no idea why, just one of those weird observations) – eBay’s got a bunch of brand-new ones, but you’ll need to fork over extra cash. Scalpers, am I right?
Now, in terms of techy stuff, this Quest 3S Xbox Edition doesn’t really add anything new compared to the regular Quest 3S. Same insides—screen, lenses, processor, all that jazz. But it rocks a snazzy color scheme, comes with an Xbox controller, and hooks you up with three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. That means you dive into Microsoft’s cloud gaming stuff. But heads up—not all Xbox games work here.
So, if you’re into the flatscreen gaming scene with this headset, it’s a win in terms of a little price cut. The whole pack is less than getting all the bits separately. Like, you’re saving some bucks, around 16% off, give or take.
Flashback to 2016, Microsoft said, “Yeah, our Xbox One X will support high-fidelity VR.” Spoiler: it didn’t happen. So, this headset feels like their closest shot yet. But heads might roll for VR folk finding out they can’t play their Xbox faves in VR. It’s flat gaming on a VR headset. An odd kinda cool? Maybe?
Fingers crossed one day we’ll get Xbox games popping in 3D, giving a dab here and there for some depth. Who knows? Anyway, just know this was all updated on July 27th, 2025, cause there was a goof on the accessory prices before. We got it patched up to $475 from $415. My bad on that.
Catch you later, I guess.
