So, picture this: you’re sitting down at a piano, right, and instead of just tickling the ivories, you’re whipping up a gourmet meal. Yeah, kind of bonkers, huh? But that’s what this whole PianoCafe thing is doing. Plai Technologies thought, “Hey, why not cook with a piano?” and went for it. No clue what their brainstorming sessions are like, but I kinda wish I was there.
Okay, so it’s hitting the Quest 2 on July 30th, and it’s not just some copycat beat game like, I dunno, that PianoVision one. Nope, they’re turning your keyboard into a kitchen. You play a C major, boom, you got some bread. F major? Cheese. Not sure why cheese isn’t A minor, or maybe that’s just me overthinking it. Anyway.
So, you’re this short order chef whipping up meals for ghostly (literally) customers. Kinda spooky, right? But I dig that vibe. Play the right chords, get the right ingredients, and voilà! Musical sandwich. Doesn’t that just sound… wild? Probably not how Beethoven imagined it, but here we are.
But let’s not pretend this is a one-stop-shop to becoming a piano maestro. They said it’s for “curious minds and musical beginners,” whatever that means. I guess it’s a bit of piano appetizer before diving into the intimidating world of, urgh, sheet music. Good luck with that.
Oh, and heads up, you’ll need a MIDI-compatible piano to get in on this. Something about the app using MIDI detection. But no worries, they’re working on a camera thing for acoustic pianos. So maybe they’re living in 2030 while we’re all stuck here.
For now, if you wanna keep tabs on this chaos, just wishlist PianoCafe on the Horizon Store for Quest 2. July 30th is around the corner, so mark those calendars. Or don’t. Up to you, honestly.
